Why? Because eating these two dishes will make you end up eating lots of rice LOL

What you need:
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 drops of lime juice (can use lemon juice or vinegar, too)
1 tbsp. cornstarch (or potato starch or rice flour)
1 tsp fish sauce
3/4 cup vegetable oil
Method:
- Mix lime juice, fish sauce and flour til no more lumps
- Mix the sauce with the beaten eggs
- Heat oil in a frying pan and pour egg from about a foot above the pan
- Cook for about 20 seconds, flip and cook for another 20 seconds
- Serve immediately

What you need:
a bunch of kai lan
1 1/2 tbsp chopped garlic
1 fresh red chilli, minced
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Stir fry sauce:
3 tbsp cooking sherry (I replaced with 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar)
1/4 cup chicken stock
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 1/2 tsp fish sauce
2 tsp brown sugar
Method:
- Mix stir fry sauce
- Heat oil in a frying pan and sautee garlic and red chilli til fragrant
- Add in kai lan and cook for a minute
- Pour in stir fry sauce and mix well, cook for another minute
- (make sure kai lan is not over cooked, crunchy kai lan is the best)
- Serve immediately

ReplyDeleteEverytime we dine out, my hubby's and my son's menu will be these two plus soup... be it oxtail soup or beef soup. hat is their standard menu. They will just sit on their chairs, look at me and said... "mama, the usual thing". Hahaha, so not adventurous... It is only mama and the daughter who will crack their heads to think of what we are going to eat!
simple and yet so tasty! that's indeed very dangerous!! LOL!
